The Lie I Tell Myself: Content Consumption

At its core, content is anything created for a consumer — videos, articles, podcasts, tweets, memes. There are endless forms of it. And with just a tap, we open platforms overflowing with a chaotic flood of information.

A reminder of impermanence

You are a traveler.

A life without a fixed path — a clean slate — and you are free to draw it as you wish.

Obstacles may come, storms may rise, but remember: you came into this world alone, and you will leave the same way.

Still, what a mesmerizing illusion life is. You forget this truth — the truth of being alone. You’re surrounded by people and feel they’re with you, but deep down, you know — you are still walking alone.

You once liked a girl in college. Maybe you told yourself it was just friendship. Maybe that wasn’t entirely true. She too was a traveler — unknown to the ways of the world, just like you — only her path seemed a little different. But in the end, everyone is a traveler.

People arrive in this world without knowing where they are going. Rarely, someone shows the way — and even then, why expect anyone to?

Your parents, your friends, even the girl you once admired — all travelers. They come and go. They will leave, too, when their time comes.

Most people wander endlessly, lost in distractions, forgetting they even have a destination. Why? Because to finish the journey, they must first question everything they’ve been told — everything they believe. But few are brave enough.

If life were just a journey, it would be simple. But life is a cage. It only becomes beautiful when you realize how to break free.

That girl? Maybe she smiled when you looked at her. Maybe you laughed with your friends. But that was just the childishness of a traveler who forgot his destination — who lost his pursuit.

So wake up.

You knew you were a traveler. You’ve always known. Most will forget. Most will stay behind. They’ll lose themselves in illusions. They won’t seek freedom — won’t even know what it means.

But you — you must stay awake.

Because one day, you will sleep forever.

And before that day comes, the traveler must finish the journey.

Or else — what was the point of knowing the truth?
